As with recent years, we anticipate that we will again experience weed growth in this area over the next few months.  Although weed boats will be actively removing this weed it is possible, especially if the weather is exceptionally warm and sunny, that boaters and anglers may be affected.  Please be assured that we will do our best with the resource we have available to manage weed growth.

Please do report any sightings of excessive weed growth in this area to [email protected]

Description

The recent warm and sunny weather has increased the rate of growth of channel weed on the Fossdyke, River Witham, Erewash Canal and Chesterfield Canal. Although we have had weed boats working, removing weed since May it is possible, especially if the good weather continues, that boaters and anglers will be affected along these waterways. We will however do our best to resolve any issues with the resource we have.
