Pam Simmons

Pam is retired and is keen to play an active role in the community. She enjoys being outdoors and working with other people, and has found our volunteering roles to suit her well.

Name: Pam Simmonds

Volunteer role: Various roles

Location: Newark

Our business support administrator, Cheryl, tells us more about Pam:

“Pam volunteers with us nearly every day of the week. She always goes that extra mile to help and nothing is too much trouble for her. She puts her name forward for everything and is always looking for ways to improve things for us and for our customers.

“Every Tuesday she does an eight hour day in the office. Then on Thursdays she works a full day at our sensory garden, pruning, planting and generally improving the area for the public to enjoy. On top of this, every week she spends several days as a volunteer lock keeper across two local locks in Newark. Pam has also given up her evenings and weekends to help at our events.

First-hand experience

“She always does a great job and has connected well with our customers. This helps when she is lock keeping, on reception or at events and means she can give that extra personal touch. Plus, she has first-hand experience of many of their enquiries, which really helps.

“Pam is a very positive person. Just being around her makes others want to get involved and be part of the team.”
