Our supervisor, Kevin Phillips, tells us more about Charlie:

"Charlie undertakes a number of volunteer roles with us. He is a volunteer lock keeper, assisting 3100 boats through the Llangynidr lock flight each season. He manages a Welcome Station, he organises winter works parties, he writes a newsletter and is our team communicator as well as a television media star. Charlie volunteers at our Open Days and is a Customer Service Inspection generator.

"Charlie always provides a highly professional standard of customer service. It's the little things he does that really make the difference. He’s friendly, cheerful, always listens to other and keeps an open-mind. Plus, he gives that extra smile.

"His caring attitude makes Charlie particularly stand out. He wants everyone to enjoy their experiences and for no one to be disappointed. Charlie genuinely cares about the canal, believing that it belongs to everyone and is there for everyone to enjoy, anytime."
