Macclesfield Canal Society: Bosley Locks

Bosley Locks Adoption Group (BLAG) has adopted from Bridge 52 to Bridge 57 at Bosley, along the Macclesfield Canal.

Macclesfield Canal Bosley Lock

Our group have repaired and repainted the fences in recent years, and aim to repaint the locks every year or so. Over the winter of 2019, we laid new gravel on what was a very muddy towpath around Lock 5, and as a special event we organised to repaint the Dane Aqueduct wrought iron fencing.

Giving back to communities

Our members are volunteers, and among them lock keepers too. We pride ourselves on wanting to give something back to our communities. We also like the open air and working with like-minded people.

Our group is well supported but we are always interested in new team members. We meet at Top Lock in Bosley on the second Wednesday of the month at 10am. You can find out more here or get in touch with our local leads Piers Lambert [email protected] or Duncan Learmond [email protected] and let us know if you are joining us, so we know we have enough tea and cake too.
