Rotary Club of Northwich

Northwich Rotary Club members volunteer and fund raise throughout the year; giving something back to our local communities. We have 35 members from differing professional backgrounds.

Environmental work features strongly in our volunteering plans and the offer of adoption and to undertake work at Lock Street, alongside the Weaver Navigation and opposite Northwich's main redevelopment site at Baron's Quay provided a multitude of opportunities for improvement; from improved access and safety for river users and walkers to environmental improvements including fence repairs, litter picking and planting. Using our community links, we have also been able to attract additional volunteers to help with the tasks.

Officially adopted in early 2016 there have been work parties every couple of months, in which time the area has been significantly improved. Plans for the future include step repair work and bankside protection.

Wherever possible we leaver in additional funding to help with the improvements and make links with other Rotary and Community aims; for example, Plant Purple for Polio - a worldwide Rotary campaign aiming to eradicate Polio.
