What's involved?

Individuals who love to meet new people and share your craft skills/ experience by volunteering to lead small group craft activity in Victoria Quays on the Sheffield Canal. The Trust has a small archway in Victoria Quays. Every Friday 10-12 we run a craft session that is free for the local community. We are looking for individuals confident to lead these sessions which consist of a complete range of crafts from painting, sewing, felting, paper crafts, air dried clay, macrame, jewellery and much much more. We provide all the equipment needed, we just need your assistance to run some of the sessions for us.
Following appropriate selection, training and induction sessions we expect the role to commence fully around April 2022 and run continuously.

What skills are we looking for?

To carry out this role, you’ll ideally have an interest in the waterway and/or the local area, but this is not essential.
What skills do you need?
• A friendly and welcoming personality
• Enjoy meeting new people
• Comfortable and confident enough to run community sessions
• A passion for crafting
• Basic craft skills (you don’t have to be an expert nor do you need to have done all of the different craft examples mentioned above, the most important thing is that you are enthusiastic and are keen to run an enjoyable session)
• Creativity – to think of new session ideas to keep the classes fresh and interesting
• Consideration of safety when leading the activities.
