What's involved?

Delivering our water safety messages via a virtual classroom format to schools and uniformed groups. Volunteers will deliver a specially adapted virtual water safety workshop via a video conferencing facility, which can be done from home.

This provides opportunities to gain practical skills in virtual delivery through online platforms as well as an understanding of safeguarding and GDPR issues specific to this type of interaction.

What skills are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will need to be confident and up for the challenge of speaking to people and groups virtually. You will need to be able to clearly explain our key messages to a range of Primary age and ability pupils.
Previous experience of online delivery or teaching is desirable but not essential.
A strong desire to learn and to deliver your best to each new group is a must. Full training and support will be provided for this role to all new candidates.
A strong and stable internet connection is important to ensure clear communication between yourself and the schools involved.

This role involves regulated activity with children and adults at risk, as defined by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Therefore, an Enhanced Criminal Record check will be undertaken, and references will be sought. A criminal record is not always a barrier to volunteering with us.
