What's involved?

Come and join our Towpath Taskforce at Mile End Lock (E14 7RF) on Saturday September 3, from 10 am – 2 pm. We would like to help people in the area in caring for your local canal. As a Towpath Taskforce Volunteer you will help to support your local canal by cutting back overgrown vegetation, clearing paths, collecting litter, painting, and generally tidying up. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support.

This event is not for corporate groups. If you would like to get your company involved please go to our corporate volunteering pages.

We will be meeting at Mile End Lock (the lock itself). If you do not receive an invite to join us please still do feel free to come along, the more the merrier!

What's in it for you?

It's a great way to meet other local volunteers and the CRT Volunteer team, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment

What skills are we looking for?

There are no skills required for this task and all safety procedures and work instructions will be given on the day. We advise that you wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and protective footwear with no open toed shoes. Please dress to the weather and bring water, a snack, and a smile
