Volunteer Boat Data Collector: Diglis

Diglis - riverside on the River Severn
As a Volunteer Data Collector you will record daily sightings via our boat sighting app of the boats moored on Diglis visitor mooring on the River Severn. This will have a positive impact on the management of the waterways, for the benefit of all boaters and users of the canal and towpath, by supporting in the effective management of our visitor moorings to ensure fair access to all.
You will need to provide/use your own android/ Iphone for the BSA app. People Safe and Stop & Think
This is an ongoing role but can be done for agreed periods, the preference would be consecutive days, the role should take approximately one hour per day, between the hours of 8am and 4pm but we can be flexible with what works for you too!

Volunteer Data Collectors will receive an induction and on-going training as it’s needed, including in the use of our BSA Light boat-sighting app.
The Trust will provide clothing, training, PPE and offers reasonable out of pocket expenses.
What skills are we looking for?
The most important attributes are an ability to interact with and help others, a friendly manner, the ability to make a positive first impression and attention to detail. It may be that you have an interest in the waterways and/or good local knowledge of the area, but these are not essential as long as you are willing to learn more about both. You will be happy conversing with the general public and if you have a love of the local waterways, all the better!
