Nature Recovery Volunteers are part of the Trusts team working to support nature. You will play a vital part in our Green Recovery Challenge, which includes habitat creation & maintenance, , wildflower planting, vegetation maintenance and clearance, in order to recover vulnerable species and create a clean and inviting space for users. This opportunity is flexible so suitable for someone with a few hours, or can give more time if you choose.
What's in it for you?
This is the chance to have a positive impact on your local waterway, play a leading role in recovering vulnerable species, and have the opportunity to enthuse others to do the same. It is a fact that being by the water makes you happier and healthier, this role allows you to both increase your own wellbeing as well as encouraging others to improve theirs.
What skills are we looking for?
The most important attributes are an enthusiasm to recover green spaces and support wildlife across our canal network and surrounding area and a hands-on approach. It may be that you have an interest in nature, our waterways and/or a good local knowledge of the area, but they aren’t essential so long as your willing to learn more about both. This role largely take place across 2022 to support our Green Recovery Challenge Project, however there may be opportunities to continue in the role following this year project permitting.
