What's involved?

As the name suggests, working with the Trust to actively care for and improve areas along the Macclesfield Canal They meet more frequently and is more Ad Hoc in its approach to various tasks long the canal and takes on a mixture of projects which can vary on a weekly basis, but includes, painting of Ramsdell Hall railings, painting locks, litter picking, minor towpath repairs, light vegetation clearance, planting of trees and shrubs and maintenance and painting of canal side furniture. This group also runs an annual Veg Bash session (clearing offside vegetation) tackling approx.. 4-6 miles of the canal on a rotational basis. These volunteering days are outside and a great way to enjoy the environment, keep fit and meet new people. Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and sturdy footwear.
