Join us on Wednesday 19 February at Bankside in Southall for a satisfying day’s work on the peaceful Grand Union Canal. We’ll be helping to improve the canal for visitors and wildlife by painting the bridge, collecting litter and giving the area a general sprucing up. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We'll be delighted to see you there.
In order to help us combat plastic pollution, if possible, please could you bring your own reusable water bottle and/or mug along with you.
Meet us at 10amBankside in Southall, nearest postcode is Hambrough Tavern UB1 1NG. The event will run from 10am - 3.30pm, you're welcome to join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally work boots, walking boots or wellies.
