Anderton Boat Lift, Trent & Mersey Canal, Cheshire, CW9 6FW
We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic volunteer to help us maintain our beautiful gardens throughout the year at the Anderton Boat Lift.
You will be helping with a variety of different tasks and activities such as planting, landscaping and general building maintenance. It’s all about keeping our site maintained to high standard and offering something memorable to all visitors as the public face of the Canal & River Trust, answering any questions and encouraging them to return to our waterways and tell their friends about us.
Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, our roles now look a little different. We are looking for volunteers to assist us with:
General gardening work (weeding, leaf collecting)
Mowing, strimming and planting.
Maintenance of our visitor centre.
Being an advocate for the Canal & River Trust both locally in the North West and nationally.
Becoming part of a friendly and dedicated team, volunteering in a beautiful environment, meeting people and making new friends, improving communication skills and enjoying new experiences to name a few, along with a real personal satisfaction that you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to our visitors’ experience.
The role will suit people who have a friendly enthusiastic manner and enjoy working outdoors. It involves working with power tools and gardening equipment and will require you to take part in training assessments. This role can also sometimes be physically demanding, and you may be on your feet all day. You will be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process, and full training will be given. Out of pocket expenses can be claimed.
