Volunteers are sought to be inbedded in the Customer Operations team, assisting staff in the day to day maintenance and running of the Peak Forest and Macclesfield Canals. Tasks are as varied as they are diverse, where no two days will be the same due to reactive nature of customer needs and the proactive nature of pre-planned maintenance tasks.
Volunteers will benefit from being an integral part of the operations infrastructure and will be able to directly assist the day to day running of their local waterways. Suitible training will be offered as appropriate and volunteers will be offered the chance to develop their skills and gain qualifications. Volunteers will also benefit from a sence of belonging and all the benefits associated with teamwork and the satisfaction of completing highly important tasks.
No experience required, you just need enthusiasm and the ability to work in a team, all tools and equipment will be provided. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions and sturdy footwear, ideally work or walking boots or wellies.
