Starts: 23 October 2019
Lea Bridge, River Lee, Hackney, E5 9RB
Join us on Wednesday 23rd October between 10am and 3.30pm at Lea Bridge for an enjoyable day’s work on the beautiful River Lee. We’ll be removing floating Pennywort from the water. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We will be delighted to see you there. You're welcome to join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
As a way to help stop plastic pollution we encourage all volunteers to bring their own reusable water bottle with them.
Please note we do not allow corporate groups on this event. If you are part of a corporate and want to volunteer with the Trust please see our corporate volunteering page.
Meet us by The Princess of Wales Pub, Lea Bridge Road, E5 9RB. The nearest stations are Clapton and Lea Bridge which are a 10 minute walk from the meeting point.
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket or sun hat) and sturdy soled footwear ideally work boots, walking boots or wellies.
