‘THIS ACTIVITY IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD BUT PLEASE DO STILL SIGN UP AND WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WHEN IT STARTS UP AGAIN’
We are currently opening an opportunity for the residents of Penkridge and surrounding areas to assist with the maintenance and general presentation of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal through Penkridge. We are looking for volunteers to come along and join us on the last Thurs of every month to assist with varied tasks along the canal corridor which includes vegetation management, litter picking, lock maintenance, painting of structures, graffiti removal and general Improvement of the local canals and towpaths. We also welcome suggestions as to how future tasks can be built-in to improve the local environment.

Benefits

Great way to meet other local residents, working out in the fresh air and to get some gentle exercise at the same time. Learn new practical skills, hear about other opportunities and see how a little effort can make a big difference to your local environment.
Bring some lunch, but tea and coffee will be provided. We provide the tools and PPE (gloves and safety-glasses if required) you just need to bring along plenty of enthusiasm

Skills required

Any trade skill would be an advantage but not essential.
