Join us on Wednesday 18 September between 10am and 3.30pm at Twyford Abbey Road for a satisfying days’ work at this popular spot on the Grand Union Canal. We'll be litter picking and doing a general tidy up of the area. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We will be delighted to see you there.

In order to help us combat plastic pollution, if possible, please could you bring your own reusable water bottle and/or mug along with you.

Meet us on the Canal Towpath off Twyford Abbey Road, NW10 7DD. The nearest station is Stonebridge Park station which is a 15 minute walk away.The event will run from 10am-3.30pm, join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!


The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.

Skills required

No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally boots or wellies.
