Starts: 20 February 2019
Alperton, Grand Union, West London
Join us on Wednesday 20 February at Alperton for a satisfying day’s work on the peaceful Grand Union Canal. We’ll be helping to improve the canal for visitors and wildlife by collecting litter and cutting back overgrown vegetation. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We'll be delighted to see you there.
Meet us at 10am on the towpath below Carlyon footbridge, HA0 1TX. The nearest station is Stonebridge park. The event will run from 10am - 3.30pm, you're welcome to join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally work boots, walking boots or wellies. If possible, please contact us to let us know you're planning to come – sign up below or ring 0303 040 4040 for more details.
