Activities: Education, Practical, Regularly
Learning to be safe near water is an important part of a child's education.
“ Be SAFE near water and Stay Away From the Edge!”
Canal & River Trust volunteers offer ways to make youngsters aware of water safety through special volunteer-led sessions and exciting challenges. We offer free class-led activities and assemblies, in school and with uniformed groups such as Cubs and Brownies.
We are looking for volunteers who have a passion to keep children safe near water and who could deliver our important water safety message.
Our education volunteers also work in partnership to deliver Water Safety at Safety Events (e.g. with Fire & Rescue Service, and with RNLI)
We are looking for people who can volunteer flexibly and respond to school and informal group requests as required and who can commit to at least 3 or 4 days a month. We try and give you at least 2 weeks’ notice of a visit.
