Join us on the fourth Friday of every month, 10am to 1pm, for an enjoyable day’s work on the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation in Rotherham. We’ll be tackling a variety of tasks, including painting, litter picking, cutting back vegetation and planting. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments.

The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet likeminded volunteers and join the Canal & River Trust Team. You will learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving the local waterway environment.

Skills required

No previous experience is required; all safety procedures and work instructions will be given on the day, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. We advise that you wear old clothes and protective footwear if you have some.
