We need volunteers to help tackle the spread of invasive Himalayan balsam on the Pocklington Canal. This non native plant is controlled by pulling (it has shallow roots and is easy to pull up by hand) before it flowers - typically the season to carry out this task is June - July.
Volunteer mornings are being organised as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund project on the canal. Contact email@example.com for more details, or search for 'Pocklington Canal' on Facebook or @PockCanal on Twitter.
Planned mornings (10am - 12noon): Tue 19th June, Fri 22nd June, Wed 27th June, Tue 10th July. The location will vary for each one, so please register below and Lizzie will respond to you, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spending time in the fresh air along the beautiful Pocklington Canal!
No skills required, this plant is shallow rooted and easy to pull up.
