Activities: Administration and support, Office-based, Other specialist roles
Closing Date: 2 July 2018
If you have an interest in hydraulics and engineering on our waterways? Our MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) team have an interesting opportunity to offer to an enthusiastic volunteer.
Based in the north west, you will be surveying all assets with hydraulic systems, recording the details of all flexible hose assemblies and completing our hydraulic hose register.
This task will be carried out under the supervision of our Senior M&E Engineer, and will offer the chance for those interested in these systems to learn more about our work and a range of assets. We would like someone to commit to one day per week to this task, ideally over the course of six months but we can be flexible if needed. Travel expenses can be paid for this role, in addition to required PPE.
We require someone with a good working knowledge of hydraulic systems, and in particular flexible hose assemblies. If you have this background, and are happy to volunteer in a predominantly outdoors situation, we would welcome the chance to speak to you.
Please note that due to the location of the sites, you will need access to reliable transport.
