Hanwell Flight, Grand Union Canal, Southall London
Join us on Saturday 2nd June between 10am and 3.30pm at Hanwell for a satisfying days work at this beautiful spot on the Grand Union Canal. We'll be cutting back vegetation, collecting litter and preparing and painting the locks. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We will be delighted to see you there.
Meet us at 10am by Lock 90 (Norwood Top Lock) off Havelock Road, UB2 4PL. The event will run from 10am-3.30pm, join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is needed, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket) and sturdy soled footwear ideally work boots, walking boots or wellies. If possible, please contact us to let us know you're planning to come – sign up below or ring 0303 040 4040 for more details.
