We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to assist in the recruitment, induction and development of volunteers who will carry out interpretation on the narrowboat Sculptor. Working with staff in developing talks, activities and other forms of interpretation while the vessel is moored at Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum and when it attends events and festivals.
You will also help organise and co-ordinate a volunteer rota, as required by the staff lead, and ensure all hours undertaken in such duty are accurate and sent to the volunteer administrator for recording.
This role will involve working alongside staff to assist in preparing, promoting, leading, delivering, evaluating and celebrating of volunteering tasks and individual volunteers at the museum.
Through this role you will gain a strong set of skills and experience, ideal for those looking to gain experience in events and historical interpretation, and increase their employability, or those keen to put existing skills to good use and pass on the benefits active volunteering can bring to others.
You will be responsible for building a successful team of volunteers to undertake these activities, you will be supported by Canal & River Trust in training and development to help you achieve this. You will be working for an exciting and dynamic organisation which is responsible for the Museum which has been accredited by the Arts Council.
To have undertaken a training session with the Gloucester Museum Curator and an external museum interpretation consultant.

A background in any trade or profession relevant to any of the museums activities (just about covers everything)
