Cheddleton Lock Flight
Join us by the canal on 9th May 2018 at 10am next to Castros Restaurant, Cheadle Road, Cheddleton, Nr Leek, ST13 7HN for an initial meeting to carry out a tidy up session in and around the canal, future meetings on Wednesdays 10.00am - 3.00pm listed below. Bring a packed lunch, welfare facilities are provided on site. Tasks will vary and change with the seasons - tasks could include lock maintenance, painting, vegetation management, planting, towpath repairs, wildlife habitat improvements and much more. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. Leader John Keaveny will be delighted to see you there.
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is needed, you just need to be willing to get stuck in with the different tasks we will have each time. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket) and sturdy soled footwear ideally work boots, walking boots or wellies. Please contact us if possible to let us know you're planning to come - sign up below and ring John Keaveny on 07484 913049. Training and supervision provided.
