Thoughtlessly discarded plastic waste is choking our canals and rivers, reaching the oceans and destroying marine life. You can help today by joining us on the Plastic Patrol Boat.

There will be tasks for all abilities and ages and as always we will be supplying gloves, high vis and all the tools.

As the boat will be travelling around the Birmingham Canal navigations you will need to contact Steve Lambert directly on 07710 175 073 or email him at steve.lambert@canalrivertrust.org.uk to find out where you can meet the boat.

Sailing times: between 10.00am and 3.00pm

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy footwear. We can provide warm drinks, but you may also want to bring your own flask or water bottle along with a packed lunch or snack depending on how long you’re staying.

It's a great way to meet other like-minded volunteers and get to hear about other volunteering opportunities if you fancy getting more involved.

Skills required

Please wear old outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. No special skills are needed for the day and everyone works at their own pace. If you've got specific skills that you think may be helpful, please let us know.
