Reservoir Rangers are the eyes and ears of the local waterway, a friendly face who is happy to chat to local visitors to the reservoirs when needed. On your regular (weekly or more often) visit to the reservoir you will keep the spill weirs clean of vegetation, keep an eye on the water quality especially in the summer, liaise with the local fishing clubs and you’ll get to spot anything you think we should be aware of.
This opportunity would suit someone with a few hours to spare each week, although you can dedicate more time if you choose to. You’ll be happy chatting to the general public and if you have a love of the local waterways, all the better. We are looking for volunteers who love to be out about on our waterway and want to help improve the environment.
You will be part of a bigger team who look after the canal on a regular basis and make life better by water. Full training and uniform will be provided.
You need to enjoy being outdoors, be able to access rural areas and have some practical skills. You will be an ambassador for the Canal & River Trust as well as our "eyes and ears" on the canal.
