Join our Wild in Birmingham Team every Wednesday, between 10am and 3.30pm on the canals around the centre of Birmingham. The scope of the team is to greatly improve the visitor experience with the City Centre, out towards Icknield Port and The Cube.
The work will be varied and wide-ranging but focused mostly on improving the green corridor along the canal with fruit trees, flower borders, herb gardens, planters etc. We also want to improve wildlife habitats with bird and bat boxes, reed planting etc. We will be supply gloves, high visibility clothing and all the tools.
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. We can provide warm drinks, but you may also want to bring your own flask or water bottle along with a packed lunch or snack depending on how long you’re staying.
Meet at Cambrian House, 22 King Edwards Road, Birmingham B1 2AN
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other Local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors keeping fit and improving your local waterway environment.
No special skills are needed for the day and everyone works at their own pace. If you've got specific skills that you think may be helpful, please let us know.
