Stanstead Lock, River Lee, Stanstead St Margarets
Join us on Saturday 18 November, 10am and 3.30pm at Stanstead Lock for an enjoyable day’s work on the beautiful River Lee. We’ll be raking leaves, picking litter and cutting back vegetation to iprove this popular spot for visitors. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We will be delighted to see you there. You're welcome to join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
Meet us by Stanstead Lock, opposite the Lee & Stort Cruising Club, SG12 8DR. The nearest station is Stanstead St Margarets which is a 10-minute walk from the meeting point.
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally or wellies.
