Each year, volunteers are celebrated in the first week of June in National Volunteers' Week. This role is to plan and coordinate actionsduring National Volunteers’ Week to celebrate and promote volunteering across the Trust both internally and to the wider world. We plan for this to involve:
-Planning and organising internal communications to promote and celebrate Volunteers’ Week in the run up to it and throughout. This could involve articles and video clips in our internal communication
-Coordinating and promoting ‘Look what we’ve done’ posters during the week for use on site and in Trust offices. This is about encouraging all those across the Trust to celebrate the work of volunteers in their team, both in offices and on the towpath
-Organising ways for the Trust's Directors to say thank you to our volunteers.
This role can be done in a Trust office, ideally with the national volunteering team in Hatton near Warwick.
Celebrating people who volunteer is a great way to see and understand the work of the Trust in all its diversity. For those both with existing communications skills (internal and externa) or want to learn new skills by working with our internal comms team, this is a great opportunity.
We’re looking for someone who’s good at organising; is IT literate (using the main Windows applications); has good communication skills; and the ability to work within a team.
You should have your own transport or a willingness/ability to make site visits around the region. Saying this, much of this can be done on the phone and email.
