Activities: Administration, Recording and monitoring
Newark Office, Nottinghamshire
Canal & River Trust's Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) team is offering a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of MEICA, within an iconic waterway environment. We are seeking a volunteer to be involved with caring for the Trust's 2000 miles of waterways and their associated M&E structures, from moveable bridges, powered sluices and pumping stations to operational buildings and mooring sites. Support is required with M&E maintenance reports, raising notifications in SAP and creating skeleton plant maintenance orders for the asset maintenance process. Based at our Newark offices, ideally you will be able to volunteer for at least one day a week to get the most from this opportunity.
Based within a small dedicated specialist team, you will gain a unique insight into how the Trust's waterways function from a M&E viewpoint, whilst supporting the ongoing maintenance of a 200 year old network using innovative 21st century techniques. The volunteer will gain experience in electrical inspections and managing the outputs from inspection reports. In house SAP training will be provided with a focus on plant maintenance orders and notifications. A great way to enhance your career within MEICA or to put something back into the industry. PPE will be provided and out of pocket expenses.
There will be opportunities for site visits to the variety of M&E structures located within the waterway network.
Experience/knowledge of M&E, a proficiency with data entry and SAP familiarity are required along with access to own vehicle.
