The chance to Lead a small team of local VolunteerTowpath Rangers who focus on making the waterways a safer and more enjoyable place for visitors.
Lead volunteer rangers will assist with the organisation of towpath rangers events, activities, walks and bike rides.
Practical activities will include keeping trust sigange up to date, limited vegiatation control, reporting issues, attending events, promoting the Share the Space campaign and being a friendly face to members of the public.
Lead Ranger opertuneties exist all over the London waterway including parts of Hertfordshire, Slough and Essex
The opportunity to volunteer in some unique locations, meet new people and contribute to our planning of boater services. If you’ve got a passion and interest in the waterways, you can share it with others or if you enjoy pointing people towards the local pub or chippie, you’ll be able to do this as well.
Being active in the same area regularly will give scope for building rewarding local relationships and getting involved in exciting local projects.
We will provide relevant safety advice, a uniform and necessary equipment. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses can be claimed.
A friendly, helpful manner and the ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically with a wide variety of different people is essential.
Some knowledge of the local area but is not essential as support will be given.
