We’re looking for friendly and approachable volunteers to join the Ambassador team at Little Venice Welcome Station. This is an opportunity to be the ‘face’ of the Canal and River Trust, playing a key role in the enjoyment of the visitor experience and ensuring that they leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of the waterways.

The role involves being on hand to talk to visitors, increasing their understanding of the work that the Canal and River Trust carries out and to answer any queries they might have. There is also the opportunity to get involved in helping to look after the area around Little Venice from towpath improvements and vegetation work to litter picking.

We are currently looking for volunteers who are able to give at least two days per month at weekends and bank holidays. This may extend to weekdays during July and August.

The opportunity to volunteer at one of the most iconic locations on London Canals with other likeminded volunteers, and you get to meet a wide range of visitors and locals too.

If you have a passion or interest in the waterways and the Little Venice area you can share it with others, or if you enjoy meeting new people then this role is right for you.

The role can also work well for couples or friends to work together.

Skills required

All you need is a positive attitude and the ability to communicate with others as well as being able to work in a team.

The role may involve opening and securing the building and helping to maintain the surrounding area.
