Towpath Taskforce Skipton

Reference: OPP0001317

Activities: Environment, One off or a taster, Outdoors, Practical, Regularly

Starts: 10 January 2018

Skipton, Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Join us for a practical day around Skipton which will include vegetation maintenance work, litter picking and general towpath maintenance. This is one of a series of task days which take place through the year, on the second Wednesday of the month starting at 1000 and aiming to finishing at 1300. The meeting point for this event may vary from week to week. Some days the group size will need to be limited in volunteer number.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy boots / steel toe capped boots. We will provide all the tools and equipment needed to do the task. You may want to bring your own flask or water bottle and a packed lunch or snack depending on how long you’re staying.

It's a great way to meet other like-minded volunteers and get to hear about other volunteering opportunities if you fancy getting more involved.

Skills required

No special skills are needed for the day and everyone works at their own pace. If you've got specific skills that you think may be helpful, please let us know.
