Activities: Environment, One off or a taster, Outdoors, Practical, Regularly
Starts: 12th July 2017
Join us for a practical day around Skipton which will include vegetation maintenance work, litter picking and general towpath maintenance. This is one of a series of task days which take place through the year, once a month on Wednesdays starting at 1000 and aiming to finishing at 1400. The meeting point for this event may vary from week to week. No experience is needed, though it’s appreciated if you can let us know that you’re turning up to help ensure we have enough tools and to find out where the next volunteer day is taking place. Some days the group size will need to be limited in volunteer number!
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy boots / steel toe capped boots. We will provide all the tools and equipment needed to do the task. You may want to bring your own flask or water bottle and a packed lunch or snack depending on how long you’re staying.
It's a great way to meet other like-minded volunteers and get to hear about other volunteering opportunities if you fancy getting more involved.
No special skills are needed for the day and everyone works at their own pace. If you've got specific skills that you think may be helpful, please let us know.
