Starts: 18th May 2017
Nova Scotia Wharf, Blackburn
Join us for a practical session, between 10am and 2.30pm, around Blackburn on alternate Thursday's. Activities undertaken will include: vegetation maintenance work, litter picking and general towpath maintenance. Meeting points will vary from session to session. No experience is needed, though it’s appreciated if you can let us know that you’re turning up to help ensure we have enough tools and to find out where the next volunteer day is taking place. Some days the group size will need to be limited in volunteer number!
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy footwear. We will provide all the tools and equipment needed to do the task. We can provide warm drinks, but you may also want to bring your own flask or water bottle along with a packed lunch or snack depending on how long you’re staying.
It's a great way to meet other like-minded volunteers and get to hear about other volunteering opportunities if you fancy getting more involved.
No special skills are needed for the day and everyone works at their own pace. If you've got specific skills that you think may be helpful, please let us know.
