Ashton & Peak Forest Canal, Manchester
We cover a range of tasks including painting, wash wall tree removal, sett clearance, vegetation management and clearance of litter from Portland basin to Hyde & Droylsden, along the junction of the Ashton, Peak Forest and Huddersfield Narrow Canal. When: 4th Saturday of every month, between 10am to 3pm
It's a great way to meet other local volunteers and the CRT Volunteer team, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
There are no skills required for this task and all safety procedures and work instructions will be given on the day; you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. We advise that you wear old clothes and protective footwear if you have some.
