What's involved?

Be a part of the volunteering and biodiversity programme on the Grand Union Canal in Old Oak and Park Royal. Funded by the OPDC (Old Oak & Park Royal Development Corporation), we aim to improve the environmental conditions of the canal, enhance the sense of local ownership, and invite the local community to be part of a legacy of volunteering - and we’d like you to come and take part.

Please join us on Wednesday 20th December between 10am-2pm for a satisfying day's work on the lovely Grand Union Canal. We shall be meeting next to Beit El Zaytoun restaurant, 15-17 Barretts Green Road, London NW10 7AE, where the steps lead down to the canal.

We will be litter picking to make the towpath a more welcoming place to visit, and also undertaking some vegetation works.

All tools and equipment will be provided along with hot drinks and snacks throughout the day. If possible, please sign up to let us know you plan on coming along. All under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.

What skills are we looking for?

No experience is required. Please just wear clothes appropriate for weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm clothes) and sturdy, closed footwear. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support.

What will you get from us?

This event is a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
