What's involved?

The Lead Explorer Volunteer will work closely with the Learning and Skills Coordinator to lead workshops from our Explorers Education programme.

Based at the National Waterways Museum in Gloucester but will include occasionally visiting Saul Junction, Gloucestershire schools or evening uniform groups e.g. Brownies/Scouts. This is an ongoing role with an approximate time commitment of 9:00 – 15:00 once or twice a week. An interview will be held, to ensure there’s a good fit with the role, references taken and an
enhanced DBS check undertaken.

What's in it for you?

Work with a friendly team, to interact with children and pass on inspiring knowledge through proven activities. Get to improve your skillset for future employment or to continue your expertise in education. Uniform and training will be given and certain expenses are claimable.

What skills are we looking for?

Confidence to communicate with children and teachers to ensure they have a positive experience with us. Previous teaching experience is desirable but can be learnt through watching other volunteers leading workshops.
