What's involved?

This is an informational session where you will find out what volunteering at the Trust is like, meet other volunteers, and hear about the range of great activities that you can get involved with.

We'll be meeting at our base at Old Ford Locks, E9 7DE (don't be fooled as there are 2 Old Ford Locks, 'what 3 words' is brands.shelf.refers) at 11am for up to 2 hours. Please note anyone under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Upcoming dates for 2024:
January 23
February 27
March 26
April 23

What skills are we looking for?

This is the time to come along and find out more. You'll be able to find out about the training that is available for certain roles and tell us about skills, interests and training that you have and are happy to give to the Trust.

We welcome people of all abilities & backgrounds to our sessions. Our team have taken part in disability awareness workshops and we are able provide additional support but, due to the canals natural environments and existing pathways, not all of our sessions are accessible for people with mobility needs. Please get in touch with us if you would like to talk about how we can support you in volunteering with us.

What will you get from us?

If you're a little bit interested or hugely keen to get involved, this is event for you. Stepping into a new team can be daunting for some so you'll be able to meet some us here as well as get more information about what's involved. There are events on the towpath or water. If you've questions which need answering, you'll find out all that you need to know.
