Oxford Towpath Taskforce
Starts: 2 April 2021 to 25 March 2022
Oxford, Oxford Canal, Oxfordshire
Come and join us on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month at 10am to tackle a variety of tasks from litter picking and graffiti removing to vegetation clearance and lock painting! All tools and equipment are provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. Meet with us on the first and third Friday of every month for an enjoyable half day's work on the historic Oxford canal. The location changes so keep up with our website, emails and local notice boards!
* 16th July - Dukes Cut Lock 44a - This is one of two entrances to the Oxford Canal coming off the Thames and it’s looking tired! Although the grass is looked after by a local resident, it is still in need of some gardening, a lick of paint and some major graffiti removal! So please bring a friend and let’s tidy this up! It's best to walk or cycle to this one as there is no road access and parking is only really available at Wolvercote Green OX28AB / The Plough Pub OX28DB - then walk North up the towpath!
What's in it for you?
Fresh air, great company and a sense of satisfaction!
Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Volunteers and the Trust team, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
What skills are we looking for?
No experience is needed but do contact us if possible to let us know you're planning to come.
Parking can be difficult around Oxford, so we recommend walking, cycling or using public transport or get in touch to find out if parking is available before each meeting as the location and facilities vary!
