It gave me life skills and confidence that I probably couldn’t have gained elsewhere.

What's involved?

Join our established Volunteer Group for an enjoyable and productive day along the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal. We're improving the waterside environment around Kinver on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal and looking for more volunteers to support us.

Continued enhancements include vegetation work, like coppicing and hedge management, upgrading towpaths, fencing, litter picking, building bat and bird box's and more. This will all ensure we continue to maintain this award winning area after receiving a Green Flag award.
This group is currently active on weekdays (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30am till 3pm). Please register to join the group.

NEW: We now have a greenhouse and a horticultural area that we are planning to develop to grow our own trees and plants that we will also use at our other sites once established. We are looking for volunteers with 'green fingers' to assist with this exciting new project.. Please ask the local team once you've signed up.

We'll provide training, tools, and a friendly, supportive environment.

What skills are we looking for?

No experience is required. Just come with plenty of enthusiasm and a general desire to improve the canals in your local area.

What will you get from us?

Joining a Towpath Taskforce team is great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your wellbeing and local waterway environment.

Volunteer will gain skills and meet like minded people,
