Knottingley Towpath Taskforce meets on the first Thursday of the month from 10am-1pm. We carry out a range of tasks along the canal through Knottingley including painting, litter clearance, cutting back vegetation and planting. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We usually meet at the Amphitheatre but please do contact us if you are planning on joining us so we can notify you of any changes.

It's a great way to meet other local volunteers, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.

Skills required

There are no skills required for this task. All safety procedures and work instructions will be given on the day; you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. We advise that you wear old clothes and protective footwear if you have some.
