What's involved?

We will be meeting at Acton's Lock (the lock itself).
Come and join our Towpath Taskforce at Acton’s Lock (E8 4TS) on Saturday August 6th from 10 am – 2 pm. This is part of the Community Roots initiative to engage local people in the area in caring for your local canal. As a Towpath Taskforce Volunteer you will help to support your local canal by cutting back overgrown vegetation, clearing paths, collecting litter, painting, planting, and generally tidying up. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support.

This event is not for corporate groups. If you would like to get your company involved please go to our corporate volunteering pages.

What's in it for you?

It's a great way to meet other local volunteers and the CRT Volunteer team, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.

What skills are we looking for?

There are no skills required for this task and all safety procedures and work instructions will be given on the day. We advise that you wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and protective footwear with no open toed shoes. Please dress to the weather and bring water, a snack, and a smile
