Gloucester, Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, Gloucestershire
Housed in a warehouse at the heart of Gloucester's fine Victorian Docks, Gloucester Waterways Museum tells the story of our wonderful canals and rivers. Volunteers are at the heart of the museum supporting a diverse range of opportunities.
What's in it for you?
Part of the role is to create a supportive and welcoming atmosphere, and provide excellent customer service care to those that call or visit the museum.
This is done by knowing what is happening in the museum as well understanding the the necessary procedures to ensure the smooth running of the site including care of the collection.
What skills are we looking for?
Ideally you’ll have local knowledge and an interest in the waterways heritage and the surrounding area, but this is not essential. Most important is the ability to communicate and help others, with a friendly and outgoing manner.
To get the most out of this opportunity we are looking for a minimum commitment of 1 day a week which may at times involved weekends.
So if you enjoy being part of a team and aren’t afraid to get involved, do get in touch!
