Notts Beeston Canal

Join us for a practical day in Nottingham along the Notts Beeston Canal. Works during these sessions will focus heavily on ecology, helping us to bring the Notts Beeston Canal to life, and provide Nottingham with a waterway teeming with life, nature and interest. Volunteers will help us to enhance the Notts Beeston Canal whilst safeguarding and encouraging the canals nature and wildlife.
Volunteering tasks will vary and may include removal and monitoring of invasive species, pond work, pruning, looking after habitats for native species, wildflower & bulb planting, and much more.
Task days are held every Thursday between 10am and 2pm. Some additional sessions may be added as required.
It's a great way to meet other like-minded volunteers and get to hear about other volunteering opportunities if you fancy getting more involved. These sessions will be particuarly interesting to those who want to gain more practical ecology and conservation experience, however they provide an excellent opportunity to anyone with any interest in helping the Trust to maintain and improve the Notts Beeston Canal.
No experience is needed. Please sign up below so that we know you're coming and to help ensure we have enough tools. We will contact you either by e-mail or telephone to confirm your attendance prior to your first session.
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy boots / steel toe caped boots if you have them. We will provide all the tools and equipment needed to do the tasks.
You may want to bring your own flask or water bottle and a packed lunch or snack depending on how long you’re staying.
