This role takes on the added element of supporting our local Bridge Keepers on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal at various locations (Gloucester Lock, Saul Junction, Patch and Purton) with their daily duties including operating the bridge. It is a practical role but also an ambassadorial role as we look to develop relationships with towpath users and provide local information.
You will be based at Saul Junction on the G&S canal and on your regular walks along your towpath patch, you’ll get to spot anything you think we should be aware of too – for example a fence that needs repairing. You may also get the chance to lead guided walks and help with work parties
