What's involved?

Become part of our growing team of volunteers helping to make the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal a beautiful space for the whole community to enjoy. As a Ranger you will be working alongside our Bridge Keepers, supporting them with a variety of jobs including maintenance, vegetation management, conservation, and litter removal and with the opportunity to learn how to operate some of our 13 swing bridges you can enjoy the canal from a new perspective.
In addition to a range of projects at our bridge sites you can join in with work-parties along the towpath and on our workboat, support us at local events and be a friendly face to the public and boaters.

What's in it for you?

A chance to meet new people while you enjoy the beauty of the waterways. Explore new experiences, learn new skills, and build your confidence as you help make the canal a place for all. With flexible volunteering hours you can choose the activities that you want to get involved in and fit your volunteering to suit you.
