Development management and control checklist for waterside developments

In 2009, the Town and Country Planning Association working with the Canal & River Trust (as British Waterways) published ’A Policy Advice Note: Inland Waterways - Unlocking the Potential and Securing the Future of Inland Waterways through the Planning System’.

This document includes a ‘development management and control checklist for waterside developments’. The aim of the checklist is to provide a tool to assist Local Planning Authorities in assessing how a proposed development may affect an inland waterway.  The checklist can help to identify those matters which require careful analysis, informed by the views of the relevant navigation authority.
