Re-opening frequently asked questions

Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. We continue to follow government guidance and are taking the appropriate action so that everyone who visits, works and volunteers in and around our museums and attractions can safely enjoy their day.

We hope we’ve answered all your questions but if there is anything else you would like to know before your visit, please do get in touch.

Do I need to book online before I visit?

It will not be necessary to book online before you visit. We are committed to ensuring that visitors are able to maintain a safe distance and for this reason, this will be regularly reviewed, so please keep an eye on this page.

What safety measures have you put in place regarding Covid-19?

There is a signposted one-way route. Hand sanitiser will be at the entrance point to allow visitors to keep their hands clean.

Will you be checking people’s temperature before they enter Cafe?

No, based on the current government guidance and advice, we won’t be checking people temperature.

Are all parts of building open?

For safety reasons the café will be offering takeaway refreshments for now but the museum will remain closed. We’ll update you if this changes.

Will the toilets be open?

Yes, the toilets will be open. Please take care when entering and exiting and follow the guidance displayed.

Will the café be open for food and drinks?

Our café will be open offering takeaway refreshments at first. You will notice perspex screens at our till points to help keep everyone safe. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for future updates. 

Will the shop be open?

We will be offering a limited range of retail products, but we would ask you to only touch the items you are going to purchase. You will notice perspex screens at our till points to help keep everyone safe.

Can I pay with cash?

We are happy to accept any type of payment, but we would prefer contactless card payments.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

We would encourage you to wear a face covering when you are indoors at Stoke Bruerne in the same way you would when you visit a shop. You may see some of our team wearing personal protective equipment to enhance our safety measures.

Will you be holding any events or activities during the summer holidays?

Unfortunately, due to social distancing requirements, we will not be organising any activities or events until we are able to do so. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for future updates.

Will I need to pay for parking?

Yes, car parking charges commence again from 1 August 2020
