Explorers East London

Surround yourself in East London's gritty history and enjoy some lovely views when you take a trip to Three Mills. You may even catch one of the many events and performances that take place throughout the year at Three Mills Island.

On the banks of the River Lee, as it breaks up into the myrad of channels called the Bow Back Rivers, the original mills would have milled corn and gunpowder, among many other products. The two replacement mills you can see today, milled grain for the gin distilling industry.

But by far the biggest monument in the area is the amazing legacy of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Walk the whole area and really explore how, together with local communities, lottery funding and other agencies, the Canal & River Trust is making life better by water.
