As part of the planned works program, the navigation will has been dewatered in order to carry out extensive brickwork repairs to the arch of the bridge and below the water line on the abutments.

Works will also include repairs to the waterway wall and towpath where it has collapsed.

The obstruction has been removed from the navigation.

Pedestrians are requested to follow the diversion route signs.

We have received reports that the towpath erosion is causing some obstructions on the navigation.

Please be aware that we would recommend that that any boats with a 2' 6" deep draft avoid navigating through the immediate area.

We are arranging for the obstruction to be removed from the canal early next week and more information will be published once it is available.

We are investigating what repairs will be required and will update this notice accordingly.

This will not affect the navigation, however pedestrians are requested to follow the diversion route signs.
